"This is a true reflection of the programs available to the athletes in BC," says Kathy Newman, Executive Director of BC Wheelchair Sports Association. " We strive to give our athletes the best services available. But the real determinant is the dedication and commitment these athlete have for the sport they love."

Both the Women's and Men's National Teams are stronger than ever, having captured double-Gold at the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games and holding the proud distinction of the World #1 Ranking. The Women's Team is led by a core group of veterans on the team who have been together since the unfathomable and much discussed infamous 43-0 winning streak dating back to 1990. The Men's Team is comprised of seasoned veterans and an abundance of young talented players that make the team a dominant force to be reckoned with. The Men's Team has quietly surfaced as the most prolific offensive and defensive Men's Team in the World. Both teams will be training hard in the months leading up to the qualification tournament for the Japan 2002 World Championships.
