Junior Programs

BCWSA runs several regular junior sports programs, including wheelchair tennis, and wheelchair athletics (Track & Field), as well as integrated opportunities in other sports. These programs are appropriate for children who have a physical disability and are able to use a manual or electric wheelchair for mobility. Children in electric wheelchairs can participate in tennis and target sports depending on the nature of their disability. To help kids experience the fun of playing with their friends and family, we also welcome able-bodied children into our programs.

Every summer, we host a junior multi-sport day camp. Our camps are taught by wheelchair sports professionals (including wheelchair athletes) and have a certified nurse on staff. At our junior sport camp, children spend the week playing everything from wheelchair basketball to sledge hockey and even enjoy day trips to waterparks and other venues.

To help juniors (under 19) get started, there are junior-sized wheelchairs in the Wheelchair Loan Program.

If your child is under 8, please visit the Let's Play Program, which offers specialized sports wheelchairs to young children and disabilities and works to integrate them into the playground and classroom setting.
