BC Wheelchair Sports’ Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle McDonell as interim Executive Director. An experienced leader in the parasport sector, Michelle has been with BC Wheelchair Sports since 2016, leading our Wheelchair Tennis programs and managing a range of projects and events within the organization.
During Michelle’s tenure as Program Manager, she has expanded and grown our Wheelchair Tennis programs and played a pivotal role in the development of athletes, coaches, and community partners. She’s also led and assisted a number of initiatives within our Bridging the Gap and Indigenous Bridging the Gap programs.
Michelle is a Certified Recreation Therapist who holds both a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Therapeutic Recreation. She’s a strong advocate for accessible and inclusive sport with an incredible understanding and belief in our values and mission whose strategic thinking, organizational knowledge and leadership will be an asset as we navigate our executive transition.
