For Teachers

BCWSA and our partners offer two different resources for teachers to help them bring para-sport into the classroom.

Our Wheelchair Rugby Schools Program is a legacy of the 2010 World Wheelchair Rugby Championships. It was created for teachers by teachers and has multiple modules that can be taught alone or as a whole unit. By framing disability through the perspective of sport, this resource seeks to raise awareness of accessibility and equality issues and encourages both able-bodied and disabled persons to be physically active.

The Let's Play Program is the work of BC Wheelchair Basketball Society. It helps to integrate children with disabilities into physical education classrooms and the playground in a safe, effective manner. Our resource guide contains fun games that both able-bodied children and children with disabilities can play together!
