Seventeen-year-old Tomas Bourassa is undefeated as round-robin play wraps up at the 2016 Birmingham Wheelchair Tennis Nationals. Tomorrow, he’ll take on Jean-Paul Mélo in the Men’s Champs flight.
He’s just one of several local success stories to play out today at the UBC Tennis Centre. Besides losing to Philippe Bédard on Day 1 of the tournament, Thomas Venos is also undefeated. Kirsten Sharp defeated Tara Llanes 6-3, 7-5 in a hotly contested match to extend her winning streak. Sarah Hunter has also earned a berth into the Quad Champs Flight with her win over Mika Ishikawa.
Tomorrow, the semi-finals will begin. There will be plenty of BC athletes to cheer on. Click here for the schedule.
