He’s just one of several local success stories to play out today at the UBC Tennis Centre. Besides losing to Philippe Bédard on Day 1 of the tournament, Thomas Venos is also undefeated. Kirsten Sharp defeated Tara Llanes 6-3, 7-5 in a hotly contested match to extend her winning streak. Sarah Hunter has also earned a berth into the Quad Champs Flight with her win over Mika Ishikawa.
