If you’re an amputee or have a minimal disability like arthritis, you may be surprised to learn that you’re eligible to play wheelchair sports. You may be even more surprised to learn that in some sports, up to 50% of all athletes can walk or are completely able-bodied. If pain or lack of mobility is keeping you from enjoying able-bodied sports, come out to the Amputee & Minimal Disability Have a Go Day on Wednesday October 25th at the Fraser Heights Recreation Centre.
From 12:00 to 3:00 pm, amputees and people with minimal disabilities are invited to try a wide range of wheelchair sports (including wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, wheelchair rugby and wheelchair athletics) in a fun, supportive environment. The event is free and all equipment is provided. You can even bring a friend or family member to give it a try with you!
