Girls-Only Wheelchair Tennis Returns!
-
massive-dev | January 3, 2017
Thanks to generosity of our donors, we are excited to announce that the Girls Only Wheelchair Tennis program will be coming back bigger than ever next year! Now, we need to recruit some more women with physical disabilities to participate.
The program will have a new home in the Delta Town and Country Inn Tennis Club. Coached by Canadian Paralympian Sarah Hunter, girls will be led through a series of fun drills, activities, and match play.
Registration is currently open to girls 11-18. Girls in a manual or electric wheelchair with a physical disability can participate. You do not need to be able to grip a racquet, as the racquet can be secured to your hand. Some players simply tape the racquet to their hand, while others have specifically designed grips. The program is $50 for 11 sessions, or $5 for drop in.
Who Can Play?
Girls in a manual or electric wheelchairs with a physical disability can participate. You do not need to be able to grip a racquet, as the racquet can be secured to your hand. Some players simply tape the racquet to their hand, while others have specifically designed grips.
