Wheelchair Rugby is coming to Kamloops!
Come and try this exciting and full-contact sport at our Have-A-Go Day on February 3rd at the Tournament Capital Centre.
Paralympic medalist Ian Chan will lead the fun session and teach participants all the basics of wheelchair rugby.
The Have-A-Go Day is meant to be an introduction to the sport for any interested players and volunteers before the launch of a weekly program in Kamloops later this spring.
The event is free for anyone to attend and all equipment will be provided.

About Wheelchair Rugby
Wheelchair Rugby is a mixed team sport for male and female athletes with impairment in three or more limbs. It’s a unique sport created by athletes with a disability that combines elements of rugby, basketball, and handball. Players compete in teams of four to carry the ball across the opposing team’s goal line. Contact between wheelchairs is permitted and is an integral part of the sport as players use their chairs to block and hold opponents.
Invented in Winnipeg in 1977, wheelchair rugby is a Canadian Heritage Sport and one of the fastest growing wheelchair sports in the world.
