Tristan Smyth shines at the Commonwealth Games

Congratulations to wheelchair racer Tristan Smyth on his strong performance representing Canada at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold, Australia from April 5-15.
The Rio 2016 Paralympian from Maple Ridge opened the Games on April 9 in the 1,500M heats. He finished third in his heat with a time of 3:12.20 qualifying for the final on April 10. In the final, Smyth finished in seventh with a time of 3:14.20.
In the marathon on April 15, Smyth posted a season’s best time of 1:31.44 to finish 4th narrowly missing the podium in a photo finish with the 2nd and 3rd place racers.
Smyth’s season is off to a good start and he’ll continue this weekend by joining a number of other BC racers at the Sun Run in Vancouver.
