What’s Better Than One Junior Wheelchair Sport Camp? Two!

Calling all juniors and their parents! This year, BCWSA will be offering two great junior sport camp opportunities for children with disabilities and their siblings/friends. Best of all, we’ve partnered with KidsSport to help cover registration fees for all campers, and travel expenses for regional campers. (See attached forms). Our friends at Let’s Play BC even have fun opportunities for kids under 11.
We’ve got fun, friendship, fitness, and even some special Canada 150 celebration surprises….you don’t want to miss this.
Junior Wheelchair Sport Camp
This multi-sport wheelchair sport camp is geared towards kids 11 and over. This year’s camp offers a variety of fun sports including wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, wheelchair athletics, and wheelchair tennis. There will also be tag games and other fun surprises! Campers will also have the chance to play alongside our Junior Leaders who have participated in these sports from a local level to the international stage.
The last two days of the camp will be specifically a wheelchair basketball camp.This year’s camp will also feature a Canada 150 session to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday! Able-bodied siblings and friends are welcome to attend.
Note: A nurse will be on hand for the duration of the camp.
Who: Kids with disabilities (and their able-bodied friends and siblings) aged 11 and over.

When: August 9th – 13th, 9:00am – 3:00 pm
Cost: $125 total or $30 per day

Chair Chit Chat for Parents
While your child is having fun at camp, stop by for a “Chair Chit Chat” on August 11th from 1:30pm – 2:30pm at the Cloverdale Recreation Centre. If there is a particular topic you would like us to discuss, please send your question/topic to Nicole at programs@bcwheelchairsports.com and we will make sure we discuss it during that time. If not, make sure to stop by to have some coffee, tea, snacks, and meet the other parents before your child is done camp!
Junior Wheelchair Tennis Camp
Due to popular demand, BCWSA is hosting its 3rd annual Junior Wheelchair Tennis Camp. Whether it’s your first time trying tennis or you’re looking to get some cross training in for other wheelchair sports, this camp is for you! Anyone can play wheelchair tennis, whether you are in a manual or power chair.
The camp will feature Steve Manley, BCWSA Provincial Wheelchair Tennis Coach, and Paralympians Kai Schrameyer and Sarah Hunter as coaching staff. They will lead participants through a wide range of fun drills, activities, and match play. All abilities are welcome and participants will be divided based on skill level over three courts. Siblings and friends are more than welcome to register as well!

When: July 17th – July 19th, 10:00am – 3:00pm
Cost: $75 total or $25 per day
