BC Wheelchair Sports is excited to announce the launch of a new Wheelchair Rugby Development Series that will include a number of additional Wheelchair Rugby Sessions at the Richmond Olympic Oval on Saturdays this Fall!
The program is designed to support athlete development and enhance our existing programming to help fill the gap created by our long pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to on-court training sessions, activities offered will include sessions for new participants to try Wheelchair Rugby with the support of mentor athletes and coaches, Girls and Women sessions, and Wheelchair Rugby for Juniors sessions. The full calendar for the series will be published soon
The series tips-off on Saturday, September 25th with a Have-A-Go Day! Participants are invited to come and try Wheelchair Rugby in a fun and inclusive setting.
Meet friends, play games, learn about our programs and connect with our coaches! This event is open to everyone who has a physical disability that causes impairment in a minimum of three limbs. All ages are welcome! All equipment will be provided. Youth are encouraged to bring a friend or family member to participate with them.
This initative is made possible through support from the Canadian Paralympic Committee and the Government of Canada.
