massive-dev | May 27, 2016
We’re excited to announce this year’s line-up of junior sports camps! We were able to partner with KidSport to help cover registration fees (for all campers) and provide travel subsidies (for regional campers). Simply fill out the application form (found here) here and send it to coordinator@bcwheelchairsports.com to access these subsidies.

The camp will feature Steve Manley, BCWSA Provincial Wheelchair Tennis Coach and Paralympians Kai Schrameyer and Sarah Hunter as coaching staff to lead participants through a wide range of fun drills, activities, and match play. All abilities are welcome and participants will be grouped based on skill level over three courts. Siblings and friends are more than welcome to register as well!

Junior Wheelchair Multi-Sport Camp
Our multi-sport wheelchair sport camp geared towards kids 11 and over offers a variety of fun sports including wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, wheelchair athletics and wheelchair tennis, as well as tag games and other fun surprises. Campers will also have the chance to play alongside our Junior Leaders who have participated in these sports from a local level to the international stage. Siblings and friends are more than welcome to register as well! The last two days will be wheelchair basketball. The camp runs from 9 am – 3 pm every day. A nurse will be in attendance for the multi-sport sessions.
We would also like to invite parents to attend a “Chair Chit Chat” on August 19st from 1:30 – 2:30pm at the Cloverdale Recreation Centre. We would like to take the time to meet with parents before the end of the multi-sport camp to have an informal “chit chat” session on “Where to Go from Here”. The session will provide information on the sport opportunities available through BCWSA, and what to expect as your child continues in sport throughout the years. Topics such as athlete independence, game opportunities, and funding opportunities will be discussed. If there is a particular topic you would like us to discuss, please send your question/topic to Ana at coordinator@bcwheelchairsports.com and we will make sure we discuss it during that time. If not, just come to have some coffee, tea, and snacks and to meet the other parents before your child is done camp!
