  • massive-dev  |  August 29, 2016

For the 2nd straight year, we’re excited to announce that the Birmingham National Wheelchair Tennis Championship will be hosted by BCWSA. All Canadian players are eligible to compete in our events, which will include Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Quad, and Junior Divisions (in both singles and doubles events).

To play, you need to be ready for the following:

– Players must be prepared to play 1 – 3 matches per day
– No scheduling requests (ie. late start times) will be accepted
– Athletes should not book departures or flights earlier that 7 pm on Sunday October 30th
– Players may need to purchase a Provincial Tennis Association membership when registering. PTA memberships are at the player’s expense.

On October 31st, there will be a one -day development session available to all Birmingham players. Tennis Canada National Coach Kai Schraymeyer, Tennis Canada consultant Wayne Elderton, and BCWSA Provincial Coach Steve Manley will be on hand to introduce high performance concepts like tactical, technical, physical, and mental development. It’s only $15, and all you need to do to take part in this awesome opportunity is to note it in your Birmingham registration

Tennis Canada is proud to provide travel grants for all eligible Birmingham competitors. Find the travel grant forms below.

We had so much fun last year, and can’t wait to see you all soon!
