Wheelchair Tennis at Kamloops Legacy Performance Games Cancelled Due to Wildfires
-
massive-dev | July 18, 2017
After much consideration, we regretfully have chosen to cancel the Kamloops Legacy Games tournament because of the wildfires currently burning through most of the province. Although there are no fires in Kamloops, the air quality has been considerably compromised; it is not recommended that people do any physical activity outside. There are also thousands of people being evacuated into the city because of the fires in the surrounding areas and we cannot in good conscience recommend that athletes go into the area at this time.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but stress that health and safety are the most important considerations.
We will arrange for all registration fees to be returned, but this may take a few days. Thank you for your patience while we sort everything out.
We are currently doing our best to cancel all hotel rooms on the room block but ask that if you are booked at the tournament hotel under the room block you send a note to let us know. This will make it easier to ensure that we cancel everyone’s reservations. Please contact Michelle at michelle@bcwheelchairsports.com or 604-333-3520 x208
If you booked at the tournament hotel outside of the block, you can contact Rhian Williams to cancel your room. Reservations is very overwhelmed at this time and it may be difficult to get through on the toll free line. Please contact Rhian at 250-851-2404 or rhian.williams@hilton.com.
Please do not hesitate to contact Michelle if you have any questions.
