What We Do
From introductory programs and wheelchair loans for new participants to training opportunities and athlete supports for high-performance athletes, we offer a range of programs, events, and supports for athletes at every stage of their journey.
Programs
Have-A-Go Days
Fun and inclusive introductory sessions where new participants can try sports with supportive BCWSA peers and coaches.
Development Programs
Weekly sport-specific and multi-sport programming for athletes of varying skill and experience levels led by BCWSA coaches.
Indigenous Bridging the Gap
The Indigenous Bridging the Gap Program aims to remove barriers to participation in sport for Indigenous individuals with disabilities across BC.

BCWSA supports high-performance athletes and teams across our sports who represent BC and/or Canada in national and international competitions.
Learn MoreWheelchair Loan Program
At BCWSA, we don’t want financial barriers to leave anyone on the sidelines. Our Wheelchair Loan Program offers athletes of all ages, sports, shapes and sizes access to proper sports wheelchairs and equipment. Sport Wheelchairs can be rented for a very low yearly or monthly rate and support is available for those in financial need.
Sports
BC Wheelchair Sports has three core sports: Wheelchair Athletics (Wheelchair Racing and Seated Throws), Wheelchair Tennis, and Wheelchair Rugby.

BCWSA runs several local, national, and international tournaments including the annual Vancouver International Wheelchair Tennis Tournament, Kamloops Legacy Wheelchair Tennis Tournament, Vancouver Invitational Wheelchair Rugby Tournament, and the Canada Cup International Wheelchair Rugby Tournament held biennially.
